A while back I set myself a writing challenge, to see if I could do something I felt was virtually impossible. Take a well-known character or TV series intended for young children, and write a story around it that would appeal to all ages.

For a while I struggled to find my subject, then one day read an article about the field near Stratford-upon-Avon, England, which was the location of the Teletubbie's set. The farmer had got so fed up with the hundreds of sightseers who, even to this day visit the field, he decided to flood the hollow and make it a pond. Horror!

But I had my subject. It had to be.

The challenge I set myself was to write a short story. Just for me... never to be published. It turned into a full-length novel. Now published. So go on... I dare you...
